The company’s history is quite interesting. At the end of 2005, a small group of people came up with the idea of ​​creating a company that would specialize only in online research. We wrote a letter of intent to the ten largest global companies of the similar profile and next morning received response from the GMI (www.gmi-mr.com) founder Rob Monster with a request to show business plan. They sent out a business plan after a month’s pause and then met Rob at the ESOMAR Congress in Cannes. We were invited to become a GMI subsidiary in Russia and the CIS and have been working in this status for two years, ensuring brand recognition on the market and stable growth in domestic sales. During this time GMI investors have changed, and IPO course was taken. GMI’s tactical decision was to withdraw from subsidiaries in the BRIC countries to simplify the IPO process and increase the financial efficiency of the shares’ placement. So we were asked to buy back a GMI stake and we did it, continuing to work under the new brand Online Market Intelligence (OMI).
